Page Thomas Mizell

Page Thomas Mizell

Richmond, Virginia

Page's story is successful because he was given a second chance in life many years ago, and so he believes everyone deserves one. People make mistakes, and the best way to grow as individuals is by learning from those mistakes.

Page also knows that sometimes people encounter problems in their lives that require the assistance of an attorney, even when they committed no wrongs. Life has a way of putting obstacles in our paths, but they are never insurmountable.

Page's practice focuses on criminal law, divorce, and child custody disputes, but he has extensive exposure to environmental and natural resource regulation. Recently he has been involved with small business transactions and he drafted a petition with another attorney to the Supreme Court of Virginia relating to a property dispute.

Page's number one priority is making sure his clients are satisfied with the work he does for them. He never wants his clients to be surprised by anything, so he promotes transparency with his clients so that they have realistic expectations. He may be a fresh face in the Richmond legal community, but he has had more than a decade of experience in customer service while working in college and spending several years in the business world before enrolling in law school.

Page developed his keen attention to detail while cooking for a number of different restaurants in the Richmond area over a six-year period, but he mastered his passion for working with clients while working for a small local business after college. He helped people diagnosed with psychology disorders while helping clean up the wreckage the disorders had caused in their lives. Whatever the situation, he will give you professional, compassionate, and respectful advice.

Page is a native of the Richmond area, and he has no plans to leave anytime soon. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University where he earned his business degree at the end of 2008. Years later he relocated to Southwest Virginia where he graduated from Appalachian School of Law in May 2015. Page maintained class standing on the Dean's List every semester he was in law school and received the Book Award for the highest grade in class for his work in Sustainable Energy Law Practice. He also served as President of the Criminal Law Society and Managing Editor of the Appalachian Natural Resources Law Journal.

Page tailored his educational experience in law school to three different areas: (1) Criminal Law; (2) Natural Resources; and (3) Family Law. He interned with the Henrico County Commonwealth Attorney's Office during the summer after his first year of law school, primarily so that he could get lay of the land before working as a defense attorney. After his second year he wanted more of an education in administrative law with regard to the energy regulations that are constantly affecting our daily lives. Finally, he worked with his school's family law clinic during his third year of law school and took on divorce and child custody cases.

Page has a love for the law and a love for life. Community involvement is instrumental in his own quality of life, so he got involved with Virginia Lawyers Helping Lawyers - because even attorneys need help sometimes. He kayaks down the James River during the summer months of the year and snowboards during the winter months. His competitive nature also lends itself to the soccer field, where he has been competing since he was five years old. Last but certainly not least, he loves his VCU Basketball. Go Rams!
